Health and Social Care
The overarching aim for our Health and Social Care qualification at KSHS is to equip our learners with the relevant skills and knowledge to succeed in a broad range of health, social and childcare environments. As a vocational course, the curriculum focuses predominantly on the key skills that modern day employers demand and our students will develop both professional and personal skills that enable them to become well rounded individuals.
Through engaging lessons, and an effective curriculum with embedded enrichments opportunities our students will understand the topical issues that health and social care professionals face and develop the curiosity and confidence to challenge these issues. With a variety of both internal and external assessment opportunities students will be encouraged to take ownership of their learning experience and develop the relevant skills to tackle a variety of projects briefs, such as written reports, fact files, independent research tasks and demonstrate communication skills. Overall, our students should understand how to become a valued member of the community understanding the principles of equality, diversity and human rights, regardless of whether they choose to pursue a career in the health and social care sector.
