Psychology
The overarching aim for our Psychology curriculum at KSHS is to offer all students an engaging, accessible and comprehensive introduction to the study of the human mind and behaviours.
Our students will develop the fundamental knowledge to succeed at A-level whilst developing transferable skills for both higher education and employment. Furthermore, they will be given the opportunity to become reflective and independent learners who take ownership over their classroom experience through means of universal learning.
As a complex and rapidly expanding area of study we encourage students to reflect on their basic knowledge of psychological concepts and to consider the advancements in psychological research, exploring multiple, sometimes competing, schools of thought, allowing them to hone strong evaluative and debating skills. Overall, our psychology curriculum has been designed to inspire our students to become open minded and empathetic individuals, increasing their self-awareness and helping them to master social and emotional skills that will prove invaluable in their adult lives.
