ATID – an aspirational programme
for years 12 and 13, firmly rooted in
Jewish values
ATID- our weekly timetabled Kehila programme for years 12 and 13 offers our students valuable tools for thinking about big issues, decision making and life beyond school. The sessions are all based on Jewish values and teachings, whilst also reflecting the diversity of our sixth form cohort and giving space and a platform for their voices to be heard and their opinions valued. Opportunities for leadership, charity and volunteering combine with careers advice, pastoral guidance and philosophical and ethical debate.
Our students learn from and about each other’s faiths and beliefs and discuss ways to combat racism and anti- Semitism. Our inter school Holocaust Memorial Day seminar attracts Year 12 students from across the Borough to hear the story of a survivor and share thoughts on lessons from the Holocaust.
We are proud to work alongside the London Borough of Redbridge in creating the local, annual HMD ceremony, in which our sixth form students play a lead role.
ATID develops skills by training sixth formers to buddy younger peers and to run sessions in the Kehila lounge. Leaders also run programmes and informal lessons as part of our Jewish festival celebrations and take part in assemblies and tefila presentations.
ATID builds confidence through interactive workshops exploring mental health and wellbeing, learning how to manage money and live on a budget, thinking about healthy relationships and the importance of respecting one another.
Shacharit (morning) services and lunch and learn programmes are open to sixth formers, along with bespoke celebrations for Sukkot, Chanukah and Pesach. See the ‘trips’ section for details of the visit to Poland.
We are delighted to work together with many community partners in delivering these sessions, along with dedicated staff from Jewish Studies and Kehila. Partners include:
Our local community Rabbanim, JAMI, Jewish Care, JLGB, Drugsline, Streetwise, KESHET UK, JWA, MDA, JNetics, StandUp.
